Methodology

Find A Vibrator is an independent, informational product directory. This page explains exactly how we source product data, what we verify, and what we choose not to do.

What we publish

Our directory contains product records for female pleasure products — currently vibrators. Each record contains:

  • Product name, brand, and product type classification.
  • Specifications from the manufacturer’s official product page: materials, dimensions, waterproof rating, battery/recharge information, vibration mode count, noise level classification, and app/connectivity features.
  • Current retail price from one or more verified retailer partners, with direct links.
  • Aggregate customer rating score and review count, sourced from verified retailers (not editorialized by us).
  • Provenance metadata: the URL where each data point was sourced, and when it was last verified.

What we do not publish

To preserve the directory’s neutrality, we explicitly exclude:

  • Original product reviews, editorial scores, or quality rankings of any kind. We present manufacturer specifications and aggregate retailer ratings — we do not add our own judgment on top.
  • Head-to-head comparison pages with editorial verdicts. Our comparison tool shows specs side-by-side — it does not declare a winner.
  • Paid premium listings. Every product in the directory is listed on the same terms. We will not introduce paid placement without full disclosure.

How products are added

We populate the directory in two passes:

  1. Data collection. We extract product specifications from manufacturer pages and verified retailer catalogs. Each data point is linked to its source URL. We capture only factual, structured fields — we do not extract marketing copy or claims.
  2. Editorial review. Before a record is published, an editor confirms the data, checks for obvious errors or stale information, and ensures the source URL is live. A record without a verified source URL is never published.

How we keep records current

Pricing and availability change frequently. Every published product record carries a last_verified_at timestamp. Records older than 30 days surface in our editorial queue for re-verification. Discontinued products are flagged rather than removed, so that comparison and guide links do not break silently.

Anyone can report a correction on any product record.

Affiliate disclosure

Find A Vibrator earns affiliate commissions when you click through to a retailer partner and make a purchase. We participate in affiliate programs operated by Lovehoney, LELO, Womanizer, Lovense, Adam & Eve, and others. Commission rates typically range from 5% to 22% of the sale.

Affiliate relationships do not influence which products are listed, what specifications are recorded, how products appear in search and filter results, or which products appear in buying guides. We list products from brands we do not have affiliate agreements with, and we will never exclude or downgrade a product because we earn less (or nothing) when someone buys it.

Every product page with affiliate links carries an inline disclosure notice.

Disclosure

Find A Vibrator does not currently accept payment for placement, ranking, or sponsored coverage. If that changes, every sponsored placement will be labeled in line with FTC guidelines and disclosed on the page where it appears.

If you spot anything on this site that reads as an editorial recommendation — a ranking, a “best of” badge, a quality score — please report it so we can fix it.
